Flash floods in a mountainous district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province in northwest Pakistan have claimed lives of at least 10 people.

Flash floods have destroyed a madrassa, eleven shops and eight houses in the area. Several students of the madrassa and some residents of the area have been missing after the flood.

The National Weather Service has confirmed a tornado in Coal City, Illinois at 9:58 p.m Monday.

NASA uses FINDER to locate natural disaster victims in Nepal

NASA has successfully launched the first real-world operational use of FINDER, a technology to  locate individuals buried under rubble in natural disaster scenarios.
The Finding Individuals for Disaster and Emergency Response (FINDER) is a radar technology designed to detect heartbeats of victims trapped in wreckage. The technology proved successful during its first real-world operational use when it was deployed to Nepal following the April 25 earthquake to support international search and rescue efforts in the country, NASA said in a press release issued by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate.

Forest fire emergency declared as lightning sparks fires in Lac La Ronge Indian Band, Canada

A forest fire emergency has been declared in Lac La Ronge Indian Band after lightning strikes sparked around 25 forest fires in the area Saturday.

Rainfall induced natural disaster in southern parts of China last week have claimed lives of 16 people as of Monday morning.
