Earthquake aftershocks in Nepal June 19, 2015

A massive earthquake of magnitude 7.9 rattled Nepal on April 25, 2015. The earthquake, which struck at 11:56 am on Saturday, has already claimed lives of more than 8,000 people, injured thousands and made millions homeless. Below are aftershocks of April 25 earthquake of magnitude 4 or greater as recorded by Nepal Seismological Center.

Magnitude 4.0 aftershock has been recorded in Gorkha at 01:50 pm. The epicenter was located between Hulchuk and Runchet.

This is the 326th aftershock of magnitude 4 or greater recorded since the April 25 major earthquake. Meanwhile, Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) has installed an earthquake early warning system which can inform about the earthquake 10-22 seconds in advance.

No earthquakes or aftershocks of magnitude 4 or greater have been recorded in Nepal as of 10:30 am today.

Yesterday, an aftershock of magnitude 4.1 rattled Dhading at 08:24 am local time.

Kathmandu valley has been declared 'Disaster Area' for a year based on Natural Calamity (Relief) Act, 1982. At least 327 aftershocks of magnitude 4 or greater have been recorded since April 25 major quake.

Earthquake in Nepal has claimed lives of at least 8,792 people. The highest number of fatalities have been reported from Sindhupalchowk (3,440), followed by Kathmandu (1,222).

Nepal earthquake has also shifted Mount Everest, the world's highest peak, by three centimeters (1.2 inches) to the southwest, Chinese authorities said.
