Magnitude 5.9 earthquake hits Bajura Nepal, tremor felt in Delhi

Update 3:30 pm local time The earthquake has damaged one house in BadiMalika Municpality of Bajura district. January 24, 2023: A strong earthquake of magnitude 5.9 has been recorded in Bajura district in Sudurpashchim Province of Nepal today at 2:43 pm local time. According to the Nepal Seismological Center, the quake's epicenter was located south of Simikot. The tremor was also felt in Delhi-NCR, India, parts of Rajasthan's capital city of Jaipur and Uttarakhand. NEPAL: Landslides in Achham district kill 22

September 17, 2022: Various landslides in the Achham district of western Nepal have claimed lives of 22 people and left three others missing. Landslide disaster caused losses in Turmakhand and Dhakari rural municipalities and Kamalbazar municipality. Landslides have caused power outage and closed roads in several areas of Achham.

July 31, 2022: Magnitude 6.0 strong earthquake has been recorded in Khotang district of eastern Nepal at 08:13 am (02:28 UTC) Sunday morning at a shallow depth of 10 km. 4.5 magnitude earthquake rattles Sindhupalchowk, Nepal

September 25, 2021: A moderate earthquake of magnitude 4.5 has been recorded in Sindhupalchowk today, Nepal's National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Center confirmed. The earthquake occurred at 12:12 pm Saturday afternoon with epicenter in northern part of Sindhupalchowk near Pangtang, Nepal . On Monday, an earthquake of magnitude 4.2 was recorded in Kharra, Darchula.

NEPAL: Landslide in Parbat kills 6

September 3, 2021: A landslide in Parbat district of Nepal has claimed lives of six people and left two others missing. The recent natural calamity was triggered due to heavy rainfall in the district affecting Durlung of Kushma Municipality and Modi Mural Municipality. Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, Nepal Police and locals have been involved in the rescue operation.

Nepal Floods: Flash flooding in Melamchi kills 7, leaves 60 missing

June 17, 2021: Flash flooding in Helambu and Melamchi areas of Sindhupalchowk district of Nepal have claimed lives of seven people and left sixty others missing. Two fatalities have been identified as Chinese national working at Melamchi Drinking Water Project. Still six Melamchi Drinking Water Project staffs have gone missing including one Chinese national, three Indians and two Nepalese. The recent flood and landslides have damaged around 260 houses and displaced more than 600 people. The helicopters of Nepal Army have been deployed for flood management and the rescue efforts. Lamjung earthquake: Dozens of aftershocks recorded, at least six injured

Lamjung earthquake's epicenter location Update 17:25 pm - The first major earthquake of magnitude 5.8 was recorded at 05:42 am in Lamjung. It was followed by 4.0 light earthquake at 08:16 am, 4.1 earthquake at 08:17 am and 5.3 moderate earthquake at 08:26 am. -According to the Nepal Seismological Center, around two dozens aftershocks with magnitude less than 4 have been recorded in last 10 hours. -The earthquake epicenter is located at Bhulbhule of Marsyangdi Rural Municipality-3 in Lamjung district of Nepal. -Six people have been injured and returned home after having treatment at district hospital. The injured people have been reported from Beshisahar, Dordi and Marsyangdi Rural Municipality. -The earthquake has damaged around 30 houses. Most of the houses are made of mud, stones and corrugated sheets. 4.9 magnitude earthquake rattles Taplejung, Nepal

 November 8, 2020: A moderate earthquake of magnitude 4.9 has been recorded in eastern Taplejung district of Nepal at 03:29 am. According to the Nepal's National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Center, the earthquake's epicenter was located inside Kanchajunga Conservation area near Olangchung Gola. The epicenter is far from the residential area. No damage is expected.

Magnitude 6.0 earthquake rattles Nepal — Epicenter near Ramche, Sindhupalchowk

Update 5:50 am According to the Nepal Seismological Center, the earthquake of magnitude 6.0 occurred today at 05:19 am with epicenter in Ramche, Sindhupalchowk. This is an aftershock of 2015 Gorkha earthquake . No preliminary damage or injures have been reported. Update 5:45 am According to the United States Geological Survey, the earthquake of magnitude 5.3 occurred 11 km SW of Kodari. Update 5:40 am EMSC has upgraded the magnitude to 5.5. The earthquake occurred at  depth of 10 km. Update 5:30 am The preliminary data shows epicenter to be around magnitude 4.8 with epicenter near Kodari in Nepal-China border. NEPAL: Eleven killed, 20 missing in landslides in Sindhupalchowk

September 13, 2020:  At least eleven people died and 20 remain missing in two separate landslides at three settlements in Barhabise Municipality of Sindhupalchowk district of Nepal. Bodies of seven women and four men have been recovered from the landslides area. Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, Nepal Police and local people have been involved in search operations.

Kathmandu rocked by two earthquakes in last 24 hrs

August 5, 2020: Two small earthquakes have been recorded inside Kathmandu valley in last 24 hours. According to the Nepal Seismological Center, a small earthquake of magnitude 2.7 was recorded around Thapathali area of Kathmandu Metropolitan City at 11:27 pm on August 4, 2020.  Today, magnitude 3.5 earthquake has been recorded around Bagalamukhi Temple of Lalitpur district at 04:30 pm local time. Narayani River above danger level, high risk of flooding

July 21, 2020: According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division of Nepal, the Narayani River at Narayanghat Bridge has already reached danger level. The water level has reached 9.897 m and is continuously rising at Devghat. The Meteorological Department has predicted flooding along Narayani river on July 21 and July 22, 2020. There is also high risk of flooding in Bagmati, Kankai, Koshi, Kamala, Bagmati, Babai, Rapti West rivers of these two days. In this case, the water will flow across the river banks and to road. The people are requested to remain at high alert.

Sindhupalchowk locals on 'alert' following possible Kerung Tso Lake outburst

July 21, 2020: District Administration Office of Sindhupalchowk has issued a notice warning that Kerung Tso Lake situated at Khasha in China might burst and cause floods in the Bhotekoshi River. The people living near the banks of Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality and Barhabise Rural Municipality have been asked to relocate to higher areas following potential outburst of Kerung Tso lake in Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR) of China. Chinese authorities have already started relocating their citizens to upper parts in view of the potential threats of the lake outburst.

Landslide in Darchula kills 2, buries 7 houses

July 21, 2020: A landslide triggered by heavy rainfall in Darchula district of Nepal has claimed lives of two people and buried seven houses. The landslide disaster occured in Naugad Rural Municipality-6, Parigaun in Darchula district of Nepal. Meanwhile, the Dungri Hydropower’s production house in Mahakali Municipality-3 has also been inundated, which has obstructed the plant activities.

Landslides, floods in Nepal kill 62 and leave 49 missing

July 13, 2020: Landslide and flooding caused by heavy rainfall have claimed lives of 62 people and left 49 others missing this July, Nepal's Disaster Risk Management Center confirmed. Highest fatalities from landslide has been reported from Myagdi district. At least 18 people died two separate landslide disaster in Dhawalagiri Rural Municipality and Malika Rural Municipality of Myagdi district. Ten people died in Barekot Rural Municipality of Jajarkot district , seven in Bajhang, five in Kaski, three each in Lamjung and Gulmi, two in Sindhupalchowk and one each in Tanahu, Shankhuwasabha, Doti and Kalikot district of Nepal. On other hand, one person died due to flooding in Raghuganga Rural Municipality of Myagdi district and another person died in Kamal Rural Municipality of Jhapa district. Meanwhile, floods have also caused havoc in several districts of Terai region of Nepal.
