March 4, 2020: At least 23 people have been killed and more than 30 others are missing due to flash floods and landslides triggered by heavy rainfall in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro in Brazil At least 18 people died in Sao Paulo, the worst affected area. Rescuers are still searching for 25 people who have been missing in the cities of Guaruja, Santos and Sao Vicente. Landslides have washes away several ouses and displaced around 200 people in Guaruja Muniipality. The flooding and landslides in Brazil in January this year killed around 70 people. The worst natural calamities occurred in the states of Minas Gerais, EspÃrito Santo and Rio de Janeiro.

Floodwater swept away 15 houses in Kigali and left some roads inaccessible. The Rwanda Meteorology Agency has predicted more heavy rainfall in coming days.

January 29, 2020: Floods and landslides on Indonesia 's Sumatra island have claimed lives of at least seven people and displaced thousand others. Also, 22 have been injured in Central Tapanuli Regency due to the overflow of the Aek Sirahar river. According to the National Disaster Mitigation Agency, more than 2,000 people have been forced to leave their flooded homes. The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Central Tapanuli Regency has declared a 7-day state of emergency .

January 26, 2020: Flooding and landslides in southeast Brazil have claimed lives of at least 30 people. Around 2,600 people have been evacuated from their houses in Minas Gerais state. Belo Horizonte Civil Defence said that teams attended over 470 incidents of landslides and flooding across the region on 24 January, 2020. The Brazilian weather service Inmet said that in the past two days, the regional capital Belo Horizonte had seen the most intense rainfall recorded in more than 100 years. More rain is expected in Minas Gerais as well as other parts of Brazil, including Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo.

January 23, 2020: Flash floods and landslides triggered by heavy rainfall have affected the departments of Arequipa and Huanuco in Peru . Flash floods and landslides wreaked havoc in Uchumayo district damaging more than 80 homes. Roads have been closed in the departments of Lima, Ayacucho, and Moquegua. Two weeks ago, flooding killed two people in departments of Pasco and Puno.

December 6, 2020: A person staying at one of the caravans at the Trimingham House Caravan Park has been evacuated after a huge section of cliff fell onto the north Norfolk beach. According to the BBC , three seaside caravans are teetering on the brink of a cliff after a landslide the size of two football pitches. Members of the public have been warned to avoid Vale Road in Trimingham, near Cromer. Two weeks ago also, part of a cliff was collapsed in north Norfolk at the same site. December 4, 2019: Landslides triggered by heavy rainfall have claimed lives of four people in eastern Ugandan district of Bududa. "Landslides occurred at Bunabutiti in Manjiya County at around 16:30 local time," Xinhua reported quoting Justine Khainza, Bududa District Woman Member of Parliament as saying. More than 30 houses have been damaged in Bududa. Landslide in Bududa in 2010 had claimed lives of at least 100 people.

November 23, 2019: Landslides caused by severe weather have claimed lives of at least 24 people in in West Pokot county, Kenya. Seven children died in the landslide disaster and severely affected Nyarkulian and Parua villages of Kenya. According to the Kenya Red Cross, in Mikinduri, Meru County, a number of houses have been reportedly swept away after river Thanantu broke it's banks.

May 28, 2018: Landslide in Oromia region of Ethiopia claimed lives of at least 32 people. Ethiopia's state-affiliated broadcaster, Fana Broadcasting Corporation reported that the landslide occurred due to heavy rainfall. At least 23 people died in a landslide in the Sidama zone. Other nine people died in the Gamo Gofa zone.

October 13, 2017: At least 72 people have been killed in flood and landslide caused by typhoon Khanun. According to the Vietnam's disaster agency, at least eighteen people died in Hoa Binh province by a landslide. Khanun has weakened from a typhoon after passing south of Hong Kong.
