Flash floods and landslides in Peru damage houses

January 23, 2020: Flash floods and landslides triggered by heavy rainfall have affected the departments of Arequipa and Huanuco in Peru.

Flash floods and landslides wreaked havoc in Uchumayo district damaging more than 80 homes.

Roads have been closed in the departments of Lima, Ayacucho, and Moquegua.

Two weeks ago, flooding killed two people in departments of Pasco and Puno.
