Recent hailstorm in Myanmar has claimed lives of at least eight people and destroyed around 7,500 houses. Six people died in Yay Tha Yauk village in the central region of Mandalay, Phyu Lei Lei Tun, director of the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, told AFP .

Heavy hailstorm hit Namsai district in Arunachal Pradesh of India causing damages to public and private properties. Storm also disrupted power supply in various areas of Namsai district, India Today reported. The storm damage assessment is going on.

Golf ball-sized hail damaged cars in Tarrant County and grounded flights at DFW Airport. Earlier, more than 20 severe Thunderstorm Warnings were issued in North Texas.  

Stormy weather lashed parts of UAE and Oman on Tuesday with Khorfakkan and Dibba having worst rainfall. Heavy downpour has been recorded in parts of Khorfakkan, Sharjah, along with Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah.

Heavy rainfall accompanied with hail claimed life of an elderly woman and damaged houses in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa. Hailstorm caused damage in Mount Frere and Mount Ayliff on Wednesday night, News24 reported quoting Alfred Nzo municipality spokesperson Ndabuko Masumpa.

Key West Shopping Center roof collapse in Krugersdorp, South Africa (Twitter/@cindyseeber)  At least five people have been injured after hailstorm collapsed a section of the roof at Key West Shopping Centre in Krugersdorp, west of Gauteng, South Africa Saturday afternoon. According to Krugersdorp News , the Key West Shopping center in Krugersdorp was evacuated after its roof collapsed around 4 p.m. local time.

Hailstorm damaged hundreds of homes in Hluti and Lavumisa areas of Swaziland on Saturday. Hailstorm also damaged roofs at Ngozi Primary School.

At least three people died by the severe hailstorm in Bulilima district of Zimbabwe. Two children from Sevako Primary School and third from Ndolwane Primary school died due to the violent storm, Chronicle reported.

Hailstorm in Punakha area of Bhutan has affected nearly 60 household and destroyed more than 80 acres of paddy field. According to the ongoing crop damage assessment report, hailstorm caused destruction in Goenshari, Shengana, Kabisa and Chubu gewogs.

Massive hailstorm hit Las Cruces with golf ball-sized hail, for about five-minute intervals between 1:30 and 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon. According to La Cruces Sun - News , hailstorm also caused damage to houses. However no major damage or injuries have been reported in the area, the news confirmed quoting Cruces Police Department Sgt. Roberto Gutierrez.

A state of emergency has been declared after a damaging hailstorm ripped through the central Saskatchewan town of Canada. Heavy rain as a thunderstorm passed through Saskatchewan causing damage in the community, CTV News reported.

Hailstorm in Da Lat City in the Central Highlands' Lam Dong Province of Vietnam has caused widespread havoc. Heavy hailstorm hit three wards of 9, 11 and 12 in Da Lat City collapsing dozens of houses and greenhouses, Viet Nam News reported.

More than 200 birds have been found dead in the hailstorm in Ahmedabad, Gujarat  State of India. Parrots, kites and crows were among the 217 birds which died or were found critically injured at Vasna barrage, in Paldi and other parts of new west zone, The Times of Indi a reported.

Severe weather in Israel has brought a rare hail storm in Tel Aviv Sunday afternoon. Recent weather system has also affected northern Israel with 20 centimeters of snow falling on Mount Hermon since Saturday, The Jerusalem Post reported.

Severe thunderstorm, accompanied by massive hailstorm and squall , have damaged atleast 362 houses in Ratu village near Mizoram-Myanmar border. At least 12 houses have been completely damaged by the squall, the Business Standard has written quoting Officials of the Aizawl district deputy commissioner's office as saying.

Massive hailstorm in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, India has claimed lives of at least three people and injured 150 others. "Ten cattle were killed and 150 people have been injured due to hailstorms," ADM Dhirendra Sachan said NDTV.

Massive hailstorm and strong wind have affected Mizoram-Tripura-Bangladesh border region. Seasonal cyclonic rain storms have left trails of destruction in various parts of Mizoram, The Economic Times has written quoting state Disaster Management and Rehabilitation department as saying.

Major hailstorm in Bogota, the capital city of Colombia covered the area with a 24-inch layer of icy snow  affecting lives of around 900 people. More than 900 people have been affected by recent hailstorm in Fraguita, Antonio Nariño and Restrepo in the southern part of the city, El Espectador quoted Fire Department as saying. 

Flooding caused by severe thunderstorm in south-east Queensland, Australia has claimed life of a person. The man was found dead near the Brisbane River 400 metres into an underground tunnel, ABC News mentioned.

A fast-moving storm through Southern California on Monday dumped so much hail on Huntington Beach that it appeared to turn white. According to the National Weather Service, at least an inch of icy pellets coated the sand at Huntington Beach after the system roared ashore Monday morning. The pea-sized hail at Huntington was layered about an inch deep, The Los Angeles Times reported.
