Massive hailstorm and strong wind hit Mizoram, Tripura

Massive hailstorm and strong wind have affected Mizoram-Tripura-Bangladesh border region.

Seasonal cyclonic rain storms have left trails of destruction in various parts of Mizoram, The Economic Times has written quoting state Disaster Management and Rehabilitation department as saying.

Heavy rains coupled with strong winds have affected power supply and surface transport in Mizoram and Tripura since Thursday. At least 10 people have been injured in Mizoram and Tripura region of India, Daijiworld reported.

According to the disaster management centre in Agartala, heavy rains accompanied by strong winds have triggered landslides in the National Highway 44.

More than 200 hundreds tin-roofed houses have been damaged in different parts of the state.
