Severe thunderstorm in Queensland brings flooding – 1 killed

Flooding caused by severe thunderstorm in south-east Queensland, Australia has claimed life of a person.

The man was found dead near the Brisbane River 400 metres into an underground tunnel, ABC News mentioned.

Heavy rain brought flash flooding to Logan and parts of the Brisbane CBD causing major delays on all train lines in and out of Brisbane.

Hailstones in Chinchilla


Thunderstorm brought cricket ball size hail stones, lightning and heavy rain to Chinchilla. According to The Chronicle, the play at the annual Terry Charles Cup rugby league competition abandoned because of safety concerns.

Heavy thunderstorms have been forecast across the Darling Downs for Sunday and Monday.
