India to host first Asian Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction of the post-2015 era

The Government of India announced at the Third UN World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction Conference that it will host the first Asian Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction of the post-2015 era.

The Minister of Home Affairs of India, H.E. Rajnath Singh, said the Indian government will take lead in hosting the conference in 2016 in collaboration with the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR).

Indian Government said that it is looking forward to showcasing its measures to mainstream disaster risk reduction in development policies at all levels.

World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction, a conference on preparing for, responding to and mitigating the risk of natural disasters completed on March 18 in  Sendai, Japan this year.
