Typhoon Saola in Philippines
-Death toll from Typhoon Saola has risen to seven. Floods displaced more than 20,000 people.
-Still many parts of Manila and outlying provinces were without power.
-According to weather bureau in Manila, the storm is expected to blow toward Taiwan later this week.
-High wind with scale 7-8 and gust up to scale 9-11 is forecast to happen in Bashi Channel, Balintang Channel, Taiwan Straits, eastern and southern South China Sea, southern East China Sea, Taiwan coast, and coastal Fujian.
-Saola is the seventh of 20 storms and typhoons to hit the Philippines this year which is named after a rare mammal found in Vietnam and Laos.

Typhoon Saola (Gener)
-Four killed and thousands displaced after typhoon Saola hit the sea near northernmost Luzon.
-About 28,631 people affected by Typhoon Saola in Metro Manila, southern Luzon, central Philippines, and parts of Mindanao.
-More than 2,413 individuals are taking shelters in evacuation centers.
-Public storm warning signal No. 2 issued over Cagayan, Calayan Group of Islands, Babuyan Group of Islands, and Batanes Group of Islands in northern Luzon and signal No. 1 issued for Isabela, Kalinga and Apayao.
-At 4:00 p.m. (local time), Saola was located 260 km East of Basco, Batanes. It is forecast to move North Northwest at 7 kph.

Flooding in Maguindanao, Philippines
-Fourteen villages in Maguindanao reported to be flooded. Maguindanao (Magindanaw) is a province of the Philippines located in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).
-Several people near the Tullahan River evacuated. Red alert issued in La Mesa Dam.
-Most casualties of natural disasters in Philippines are caused by all types of floods, i.e., river flood, flash flood, and coastal flood.

-Public Storm Warning Signal 2 for Calayan, Babuyan and Batanes and Signal 1 for Isabela, Kalinga and Apayao of Luzon.
-Classes in several public schools and colleges suspended.

-Tornado in Elmira damaged buildings and hospitals.
-State of emergency declared in Chemung County.
-More than 20,000 customers are without power in the area.
-Rescue center set up at Elmira Free Academy.Wildfire in Southern Bulgaria
-Large wildfire in Southern Bulgaria burned some 300 acres. It is currently burning in Stara Zagora, Haskovo and Yambol regions.
-However no major damage or injury reported.

Flash floods in West Sumatra of Indonesia
-Eight people killed in Flash floods in West Sumatra of Indonesia. More than 250 people left their home.
-A state of flood emergency declared by the Padang Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD).
-Floods caused widesprad damage across Sumatra with worst hit areas as Limau Manis, Batu Busuk, Kampung Koto, Cengkeh, Padang Besi, Kalumbuk and Tunggul Hitam.
-Heavy rains caused the river in Padang city to overflow. Floods destroyed over 90 houses, 11 mosques, five bridges and one health clinic.

Devastating floods in Jos, Nigeria
-At least 35 people reported to be killed in recent floods in Jos, a city in the Middle Belt of Nigeria. Still 50 people are reported to be missing.
-Floods destroyed more than 200 homes. Several houses in Tudun Talakawa, Tudun Osi, Gadar Yan Tukwane in Rikkos area, as well as Anguwan Rogo and some parts of Gangare in Jos were damaged.
