  • Typhoon Saola in Philippines

    -Death toll from Typhoon Saola has risen to seven. Floods displaced more than 20,000 people.
    -Still many parts of Manila and outlying provinces were without power.
    -According to weather bureau in Manila, the storm is expected to blow toward Taiwan later this week.
    -High wind with scale 7-8 and gust up to scale 9-11 is forecast to happen in Bashi Channel, Balintang Channel, Taiwan Straits, eastern and southern South China Sea, southern East China Sea, Taiwan coast, and coastal Fujian.
    -Saola is the seventh of 20 storms and typhoons to hit the Philippines this year which is named after a rare mammal found in Vietnam and Laos.

  • M 3.6 light shallow earthquake in Utah (@ 1 km depth) with epicenter located 19 km WNW from Emery. Just a weak shaking of MMI II-III will have felt by the people of Mayfield, Ferron, Richfield, Price, Ephraim, Nephi, Provo and Salt Lake City.

  • Flash floods in Central Equatoria State, Sudan
    -Flooding on river Kor Jamus and Lamu washed away several roads.
    -Floods deatroyed Kajo-Keji-Juba road too which links six counties to the state and national capital, Juba.
