K2 Avalanche: 2 New Zealand climbers missing

A father and son from New Zealand are reported to be missing in an avalanche on K2, the second highest mountain in the world. K2 avalanche damaged Camp 3 and left both men missing, Nepalese Sherpas said. They were waiting at Camp 3 for the weather to clear. K2 is the second-highest mountain on Earth after Mount Everest located on the border between Pakistan and China. 5 dead in Nepal's Kanchenjunga avalanche

At least five mountaineers killed in an avalanche while returning from the peak of Mt Kanchenjunga in Nepal, Online medias from Nepal reported. Two Hungarian, two Nepalese and one South Korean climber were missing from Monday. The deceased were identified as: Hungarians: Zsolt Eross (45) and Peter Kiss (27) Nepalese:  Bibash Gurung (24) and Pho Dorchi (23). South Korean: Namsoo Park (47) Rescue helicopters have failed to locate them due to bad weather. Kangchenjunga is the third highest mountain in the world located in Nepal. Manaslu avalanche disaster in September 2012 claimed lives of 12 climbers. 7 missing in Nepal's Mt Saipal avalanche

At least seven people are reported to be missing in an avalanche in the Mount Saipal region of far-western Nepal, Nepal based The Himalayan Times reports. Avalanche disaster hit yarsagumba collectors group of nine people in Mt Saipal. Two people however survived and reported about the tragedy to locals of Kanda VDC. Heavy snowfall has been reported at Raidhunga, Kanda VDC near Saipal Mountain. Thousands of people climbs Mt Saipal to collect Yarsagumba every year. Everest base camp avalanche kills 1

An avalanche above the second base camp of the Mount Everest, World' highest peak has killed one climber. Mountaineer Lopsang Sherpa caught in an avalanche at an altitude of 7,000 meter, Nepal based newspaper Himalayan Times mentions. Following an official of Sagarmatha Mountaineers Association, climber Sherpa was a member of Seven Summit Treks and Expedition. 1996 Mount Everest avalanche claimed lives of eight people. Reports have shown that over 200 people have died trying to climb Mount Everest till now. Mount Everest is the Earth's highest mountain located in Nepal at 8,848 metres above sea level. Mt Shirouma avalanche in Japan claims 3

Mount Shirouma avalanche in Japan over the weekend claimed three lives, Japanese News mentions. Fourth person has also been recovered from Mt Fuji in Japan. Two other climbers are still reported to be missing in an avalanche on Mount Shirouma in Nagano prefecture. Avalanche in Iceland injures 1

An avalanche in Dalvík village of Iceland has injured one skier, RUV reports. The skier was a member of skier group of five people. Others four were unharmed. Injured skier was immediately send to a hospital in Akureyri by travel service helicopter. Avalanche in Iceland's Dalvik village also blocked the Ólafsfjarðavegur road. Cascade mountains avalanche east of Seattle, Washington state injures 3, one missing

Update 01:05 UTC; 2013/04/14 One person is found alive beneath the snow. Now the missing number is one. At least three people are reported to be injured in avalanches near Snoqualmie Pass. At least two people are reported to be missing in two separate avalanche disaster in Cascade mountains in Washington state. Avalanches occurred near Snoqualmie Pass east of Seattle, KOMO-TV reports. Initial reports said three were missing but officials later changed the missing number to two. Avalanche Italy news: 3 skiers killed, 1 missing

Update One person is reported to be missing in an avalanche near Foppolo. Rescue teams with helicopters and dogs are searching in the Brembana Valley. Avalanche in Italian alps has claimed lives of three skiers. According to euro News, avalanche tragedy occurred in the Ortles region of the alps. They were on hiking on Punta Beltovo di Dentro in the Italian Alp. Rescue helicopters are searching the fourth person who is reported to be missing in the disaster. An avalanche in Canada's Glacier National Park near Revelstoke has claimed life of one skier. Group of three skier were in a trek in Revelstoke in British Columbia. Two others managed to escape the disaster. Canadian Avalanche Centre has rated this avalanche 2.5 (from 1 to 5). An avalanche in Bashkortostan area of Urals has killed two schoolboys. An avalanche in the Duvansky district in Bashkortostan area has killed two schoolboys. Following the regional Emergencies Center, two boys aged 10 and 12 died in the disaster. Ural mountains are the mountain range that runs from western Russia, from the coast of the Arctic Ocean to the Ural River and northwestern Kazakhstan.
