Avalanche in Iceland injures 1

An avalanche in Dalvík village of Iceland has injured one skier, RUV reports.

The skier was a member of skier group of five people. Others four were unharmed. Injured skier was immediately send to a hospital in Akureyri by travel service helicopter.

Avalanche in Iceland's Dalvik village also blocked the Ólafsfjarðavegur road.

Catastrophic avalanches in Iceland in 1995 caused huge damages in Súðavík and Flateyri villages and claimed 34 lives.
