  • Landslide in Western Kenya
    -Landslide in Narok area of Kenya has buried two children.
    -Landslide in Olutrot village in Narok county destroyed several houses.
    -Following Kenya Red Cross, about 1,920 people have been displaced in Garissa after Tana river burst its banks.
  • Summer storms in Surin province of Thailand
    -Storms in Surin province of Thailand has damaged around 150 houses.
    -Storms made 20 and 50 families homeless respectively in Jom Phra and Muang district of Thailand.

  • M 2.9 weak shallow earthquake in Oklahoma (@ 5 km depth) with epicenter located 11 km NE of Luther. It will have well felt by the people of Edmond, Choctaw, Guthrie, Luther and Spencer.

  • M 5.1 moderate earthquake in Mindanao, Philippines (@ 41 km depth) with epicenter located 8 km NNW of Linao. Light to weak shaking will have felt by the people of President Roxas, Kabacan, Kidapawan, Cagayan, Davao, Initao, Koronadal and Lumbia.

  • M 5.6 moderate earthquake near the South Coast of Honshu, Japan (@ 42 km depth) with epicenter located 25 km WSW of Miura. Light shaking of MMI IV will have felt by the people of Hiratsuka, Chigasaki, Fujisawa, Odawara, Oiso, Hayama, Tokyo, Yokohama-shi, Saitama, Kofu-shi and Shizuoka-shi.

  • M 5.7 moderate aftershocks in Iran-Pakistan border region (@ 68 km depth) with epicenter located 107 km E of Khash. People of Khash, Iranshahr, Zahedan and Panjgur will have felt weak shaking of MMI III.

  • M 5. 1 moderate earthquake in Yunnan, China (@ 55 km depth) with epicenter located 19 km SW of Yuhu. Light to weak shaking will have felt by the people of Dali, Dayan and Dadukou.

    At least nine people are reported to be injured. A disaster relied team have been send to the earthquake affected area.

    -Heavy rainfall has caused flash flooding in southeast Iowa.
    -Flash flood warnings have also been issued.

It's important to know how we can prepare for natural disasters with proper emergency preparedness plan for less natural disasters damage. We have developed several natural disasters early warning system which provides warnings of natural disasters before they impact people and property. Hail storm in Chennai: 3rd time in 5 years

Hail storm hit Ayanavaram, Chennai between 1.30pm and 1.45pm Friday afternoon. Nungambakkam recorded 3.5cm of rain and Meenambakkam 1.1cm, India Meteorological Department said.
