Recent Natural Disasters
  • Snow storms in Hokkaido, Japan
    -Snow storms in Hokkaido, Japan have claimed six lives.
    -A woman and her three children died after their car stucked in snow. Two others were buried in Nakashibetsu and Yubetsu region.
  • Avalanche in Torghar, Pakistan
    -An avalanche in Chum Jabba village in Torghar district has killed three people.
    -Heavy rainfall caused avalanche which killed a woman and two girls. Click for detail report on this Pakistan avalanche.
  • Avalanche in East Siberia, Russia
    -At least six teenage boys are reported to be missing in an avalanche in east Siberia, Russia.
    -Disaster occurred near Mugur-Aksy village close to the Mongolian border.
    -As of 17:30 UTC, dozens of rescue workers and a helicopter were still searching the missing boys.

  • M 4.3 light shallow earthquake Offshore Northern California (@ 1 km depth) with epicenter located 45 km W from Petrolia. It will have well felt by the people of Ferndale, Rio Dell, Fortuna, Hydesville, Humboldt Hill, Pine Hills, Eureka, Myrtletown, Arcata, Bayside and McKinleyville. 17:46 UTC (local time Sunday, March 03, 2013 at 09:46 AM @ epicenter)
  • M 4.1 light shallow earthquake in Cyprus (@ 11 km depth) with epicenter located 26 km E of Rizokarpaso. It will have well felt by the people of Famagusta,  Protaras and Paralimni.

  • M 5.5 moderate earthquake in Yunnan, China (@ 33 km depth) with epicenter located 30 km E of Shimen. Light shaking of MMI IV will have felt by the people of Yuhu, Shangjie and Jinhua. People of Shimen, Yunhe, Dali, Dayan, Dadukou, Kangpu, Wujing, Kunming and Yezhi will have felt weak shaking of MMI III.

    -Earthquake in Yunnan has injured at least 30 people.
    -A team has been send to the quake area by provincial earthquake bureau.
    Update 1
    -Earthquake has caused damage in Dali and Shimen region of China. Details yet to come.
    -The Yunnan Province Seismological Bureau expects major damage.
  • M 5.1 moderate shallow earthquake in Tajikistan (@ 10 km depth) with epicenter located 38 km N of Vanj. Light to weak shaking will have felt by the people of Khorugh, Gharm and Khaydarkan.

Erupting Volcanoes: Fuego, Reventador, Etna, Nyiragongo, Ol Doniyo Lengai, Erta Ale, Barren Island, Raung, Paluweh, Gamalama, Sakurajima, Kakar, Tinakula, Yasur, Tolbachik and Kilauea.
  • Ashes and gases emission have been reported in Tungurahua volcano by Ecuadorian Geophisic Institute.

Recent Tropical Cyclones
There are no tropical storm activity today.

  • Storm in Barracas area of Buenos Aires City in Argentina has killed one people.
  • Storm in Sakon Nakhon province of Thailand has destroyed more than 100 houses. 
  • Around 300 homes have been evacuated due to forest fire burning near Daytona Beach in Florida.

A: Yes, there is no doubt. Numbers of earthquakes are recorded in Nepal on daily basis but they are so small that they are not even felt by the people. If you are asking about an earthquake to occur on fix date and time, I would say it is impossible to predict such things. 
According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), "Stating that an earthquake is going to occur today is not really predicting earthquakes. To date, they cannot be predicted. But anyone, on any day, could make this statement and it would be true." 
Earthquake prediction may some day become a reality, but only after much more is learned about earthquakes. Meanwhile, you may have heard different rumors. Some turns to be co-incidentally correct. But not every time. Please don't run behind the rumors!

Flooding in Mauritius capital Port Louis: 11 killed

Recent flash flooding in Mauritius has claimed at least eleven lives. About 152 mm rainfall has been recorded in Port Louis within three hours.

-Water supply is currently disrupted in the Port Louis, the capital city of Mauritius.
-Still one person from Grand Gaube, northern Mauritius is reported to be missing.
