Two more people died Wednesday due to heat wave in Italy bringing the death toll over the past week to eleven. A man collapsed on a beach in Cagliari and another 48-year-old Romanian died while fishing in Verona province, The Local reported quoting Meteoweb .

At least nine elderly people have died of heat wave in Italy in last four days, Italian media reports. The heatwave caused the deaths of five elderly people, two cyclists and three beachgoers,  in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy. A 77-year-old person died in Chivasso, Piedmont, on Thursday, The Local quoted Fanpage.it .

Heat wave in Karachi and other parts of Sindh claimed lives of at least 237 people in just two days with temperatures as high as 45degrees Celsius on Saturday. Dozens of people have been hospitalised for heat exhaustion and heatstroke prompting all hospitals to declare a state of emergency across all wards, The Express Tribune reported.

At least 10 people have died in Sehwan district of Sindh province of Pakistan due to the recent heat wave, Samaa reported. They died during the 763rd Urs celebrations of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar on Saturday.

A week long heat wave in India has claimed lives of more than 1,400 people. At least 1,020 people have died in the heat wave in southeastern state of Andhra Pradesh. Another 340 have died in the neighboring state of Telangana. Other casualties are from the eastern states of West Bengal and Orissa, The Hindu reported.

More than ten people have died in record Shanghai heat wave, prompting the level two emergency heat alert for the first time. Heat alerts have been issued in nine different provinces of China, including Anhui, Jiangsu, Hunan, Hubei, Shanghai and Chongqing. Shanghai heat wave has been recorded as the hottest July in 140 years. On July 26, Xujiahui meteorological observation station in Shanghai observed 40.6℃, which is the highest since 1872. China Meteorological Administration has issued a high temperature warning for predicting temperatures up to 41 degrees Celsius in coming days. Intense heat has claimed lives of at least three people in Odisha, India based IBN reported. Met Office has recorded temperature over 46 degree Celsius in several parts of Odisha. Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Bolangir and Sundergarh districts are reported to be worst affected by recent heat wave. The hottest temperature (48 degree celsius) has been recorded in Churu in Rajasthan. The heat waves have also increased across UP, Delhi, Rajasthan and Punjab. This year temperatures are expected 3 to 4 degrees above normal in many parts of North India.
