  • Flash floods in Jaipur, India
    -At least 10 reported to be killed in flash floods in Jaipur, India.
    -The district administration announced a holiday for all government and private schools Wednesday.
    -Markets in the walled city and the slum areas in Jawahar Nagar, Shashtri Nagar and Sodala were the worst-affected.
    -Heavy rains since Tuesday night have also led to water logging in many parts of the city, especially the low-lying areas.
    -The state capital of Rajasthan received 160 mm rainfall on Wednesday morning.

  • Wildfire in Manton, Northern California

Ongoing Major River Floods (Based on Satellite observation): Argentina, Australia, Botsawana (Savuti channel), Botswana (Selinda), Brazil (River Tocantins), Chad, China (River Mekong, River Huang He and River Brahmaputra), Democratic Republic of the Congo, Honduras, India, Indonesia, Mali, New Zealand, Peru (River Rio Maranon), Sudan, Uruguay, USA and Venezuela (River Orinoco).
  • Flash floods in Nowshera, Pakistan
    -At least three people killed and 11 other reported to be injured in floods in Nowshera, Pakistan.
    -Following Flood Warning Cell, heavy rain will hit during the next 48 hours in the cities of Kohat, Bannu, Peshawar, Mardan and Hazara divisions.
    -Heavy rain is expected to cause flash flooding in Kabul, Kurram, Gambela and Swat rivers.
  • Flooding in Phuket, Thailand

    -Heavily hit by the flood was Thepkasatri road, particularly at Satri Phuket School and Sam Kong intersections.

    -The storm is expected to intensify into a hurricane Thursday or Friday in the Caribbean.

    Rainfall amounts of 6-12 inches (150-300mm) are possible over Haiti with the passage of TS Isaac on Friday.
  • Typhoon Tembin
    -As of 03:00 UTC, Typhoon Tembin was located 225 nm southeast of Taipei, Taiwan.

  • Typhoon Bolaven
    -As of 03:00 UTC, Typhoon Bolaven was located 730 nm southeast of Kadena AB, Okinawa, Japan.
    -Bolaven, which is named after a highland region in Laos, will be called "Julian" in the Philippines.

  • Wildfire in Clinton, Canada
    -About 50 residents asked to leave their homes in the Cariboo region due to a large wildfire which has burned 100 hectares.
    -People living along Big Bar Road to the Jesmond Road Crossing are being told to leave the area immediately.
    -The fire is currently burning about 40 km west of Clinton in the Big Bar Creek area, which is halfway between Prince George and Vancouver.

  • Heat wave in Bosnia and Herzegovina
    -State of emergency declared around a northeast town in Bosnia.
    -Several citizens and tourists were evacuated from Boracko Lake as wildfires reached the houses and tourist camps in the area.
