July 28, 2022: Flash flooding and landslides have claimed lives of at least seven people near Tehran, emergency services in Iran said. According to the Iranian Red Crescent, 14 people have been injured with displacement of more than 500 people. Floods and landslides have buried parts of Imamzadeh Davood with four meters (13 feet) of mud. Last week, flooding in South of Iran killed 22 people.

September 13, 2021: A moderate earthquake of magnitude 5.1 has been recorded in Mashhad, Iran today. According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the earthquake's epicenter was located 38 km ENE of Qūchān, Iran. The earthquake occurred at 10 km depth. June 9, 2020: Magnitude 5.7 earthquake in Southern Iran has triggered tremor in Qatar and Bahrain today. According to the Iranian Seismological Center , the earthquake occurred ar 10 km depth. The epicenter was located 22 km far from Beiram, Fars. Qatar Meteorology Department confirmed that the tremor was felt in the eastern coast of Qatar. Most of the earthquake felt reports were received from Doha. No damage or injuries have been reported from the earthquake.

March 24, 2020: Floods in Iran have killed at least 11 people at a time when the emergency services battle coronavirus in the country. Fatalities have been reported in the Fars Province and Kangan in the coastal province of Bushehr.  Heavy rainfalls created flash floods and swollen rivers in several Iranian provinces, including Fars, Bushehr, Hormozgan, Kerman and Sistan and Baluchestan in the southern parts of the country.

March 15, 2020: Magnitude 4.0 light earthquake has been recorded in Qom Province today, the Seismological Center of the Geophysics Institute of the University of Tehran reported. The earthquake's epicenter was located 19 km of Qom. No major damage or injuries is expected from this earthquake in Qom today. The 2003 Bam earthquake of magnitude 6.6 in magnitude killed at least 26,271 people and injured around 30,000 people in Iran.

January 27, 2020: Magnitude 5.2 earthquake has been felt in Shiraz, Iran today at 04:28 pm. According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the quake's epicenter was located around 46 km far from Shiraz, Fars, Iran. The earthquake occurred at 10 km depth. Light shaking of MMI IV has been felt in Kāzerūn and Shiraz. According to the Iran's Red Crescent, assessment teams have been dispatched to the quake site.

January 8, 2020: An earthquake of magnitude 4.5 has been recorded in Iran near the Bushehr nuclear plant today. According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the earthquake struck 10 km southeast of Borazjan and 45 km far from Bushehr. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 km. November 8, 2019: At least five people have been killed and 345 others have been injured after magnitude 5.9 earthquake in north-western Iran. According to the Iran's Seismological Center, the earthquake occurred at 2:17 a.m. local time in Iran's East Azerbaijan Province. The earthquake occurred at 8 km depth. The epicenter was located 115 km WNW of Tabriz, East Azerbaijan, Iran. The Red Crescent  is supporting the affected people by providing emergency shelter and distributing food & relief items. On 12 November 2017, magnitude 7.3 earthquake with epicenter at Iran-Iraq border killed 630 people.

November 3, 2019: Heavy rains caused chaos in Iran claiming lives of two people and left one missing. According to the Red Crescent Organization, two people died in floods in Torbat Jam township. Another one person is reported to be missing in Mazanderan province of Iran. Heavy rains and floods have affected provinces of Gorgan, Mazanderan, Radio Farda reported.

October 21, 2019:  Tremor has been felt in Dubai after magnitude 5.4 earthquake in Southern Iran. According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the earthquake occurred at 10km depth. April 8, 2019: Recent flooding in Iran has claimed lives of at least 70 people. According to the state-run Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), floods killed people across 13 provinces. The floods occurred during Iran's new year holiday of Norwuz. The southern province of Fars had the biggest death toll of 21, followed by the western province of Lorestan, IRNA reported. The recent disaster has flooded some 1,900 cities and villages across Iran.

March 25, 2019: Flash floods triggered by heavy rain in the southern Shiraz city of Iran have claimed lives of  eleven people. "At least 11 people were killed and 35 were injured in the Fars province," US News reported quoting the head of Iran's emergency medical services.

Flash flood in Tehran and the southern province of Hormozgan have claimed lives of at least 10 people on Friday night. Six people died in Pakdasht when a river broke its banks. Another four people died in Hormozgan province.

IRNA Photo Flash floods triggered by heavy rainfall have claimed lives of atleast 11 people in northern Iran. At least nine people have gone missing in the affected areas, Tehran Times has written quoting IRNA as saying.

Forest fire which began Saturday mid-morning has burned around 80 hectares land in Fars province of Iran. "A total of 80 people from various organizations including police force, department of environment and even locals are trying to control the fire, " Tehran Times has written quoting Saeed Hormozi, head of the local department of environment.

Flash floods in Iranian port city of Bandar Abbas has claimed life of a person. The eight-hour downpour caused flood damage estimated at $42.8 million, the provincial governor said on Thursday.
