September 24, 2021: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a $251 million for urban flood protection and management in India.
The loan has been issued for integrated flood management of the Chennai–Kosasthalaiyar river basin.
The loan will be utilized to establish climate-resilient urban flood protection infrastructure.
