4.5 magnitude earthquake hits Uttarakhand, tremor also felt in Nepal

November 12, 2019: Tremor has been felt in Uttarakhand area of India and Far-western region of Nepal after magnitude 4.5 earthquake hit the area Tuesday morning.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department, the epicenter was located in Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand. The earthquake occurred at 07:30 am local time.

However, Nepal Seismological center has recorded magnitude 4.6 earthquake and reported that the tremor was even felt in Darchula, a region located in Far-western Nepal.

The epicenter was located near Dwali, SW of Lipulek.

Currently, there is controversy on Nepal-India border after the new map of India kept Kalapani and Lipulek in its territory.
