Nepal rattled by fresh magnitude 4.6 earthquake and aftershock

Magnitude 4.6 moderate fresh earthquake hit Darchula at 03:12 pm Tuesday afternoon, the Nepal Seismological Center (NSC) reported.

According to NSC, the quake's epicenter was located inside Api Nampa Conservation area near Chhapari. This is the fresh earthquake not the aftershock of April 25 Gorkha earthquake.

Earlier, earthquake of magnitude 4.1 was recorded in Darchla district in August 15, 2015.  Several earthquakes have been recorded in nearby districts of Humla, Rukum, Bajura this year.

At least 395 aftershocks have rattled Nepal since April 25 earthquake. An aftershock of magnitude 4.6 rattled Sindhupalchowk at 04:39 pm today as well.

No preliminary damage or injuries have been reported.
