Two volcanic eruptions at Turrialba volcano in Costa Rica spewed ash columns forcing several tourists to evacuate from the area.
Turrialba volcano spewed the column of ash to 500 meters into the sky, the National University’s Volcanological and Seismological Observatory (OVSICORI) mentioned.
Several tourists have been evacuated in areas surrounding Turrialba volcano, The Tico Times reported quoting Police Chief Juan José Andrade as saying.
Volcanic ashes have been reported East of San José in Tres Ríos and San Pedro as well as in the western suburb of Escazú.
The first eruption took place around 11:24 am followed by second eruption around 13 hours later.

Turrialba volcano has been very active over the last few weeks, and this activity has moved emergency officials to issue a green alert, The Costa Rica Star reported.
Turrialba volcano erupted in March this year, spewing ash and gas which reached the capital, San Jose. Costa Rica had issued an emergency alert following the largest eruption in 150 years at Turrialba volcano in October 2014.
