Rain triggers mudslide in Lebanon – Several injured, road blocked

Mudslide triggered by heavy rainfall has injured two people and blocked the main Hasroun-Bsharri road in north Lebanon.

Civil Defense workers rescued an elderly woman after her bedroom was flooded.

Flood waters also washed away a number of vehicles along the Hasroun-Bsharri road, The Daily Star reported.

The road was blocked for almost four hours which was later reopened by the town’s municipality, Civil Defense units and the Lebanese Red Cross with the help of  number of bulldozers.

"Higher Relief Commision will inspect damages and pay compensation to residents," North Lebanon Governor Ramzi Nohra said The Daily Star.
