Sussex flood suspends Championship match

Flash flooding hit West Sussex Saturday with worst affected parts as Littlehampton and Rustington.

According to the West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service, calls have been received mainly from Littlehampton, in particular Clifton Road, South Terrace and the sea front.

The Championship match between Charlton Athletic and Doncaster Rovers at The Valley in London has also suspended due to severe weather, Daily Mail UK reported.

At least 18 flood alerts have been issued across the UK by the Environment Agency.

Sussex flood 2000 damaged more than 10,000 homes and businesses. The autumn of 2000  was the wettest on record over England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
