Meghalaya cyclonic storm kills 1, injures 25

Cyclonic storm in Meghalaya's West Khasi Hills district in India has claimed life of at least one person and injured 25 others.

About 20 people are having treatment in government hospital at Nongstoin. Four of them are said to be in critical condition.

Huge storm damage is reported in Umjaru, Mawsiangbah, Nongkniang, Mawsiej, Mawrok-Mawlangiang and Nongkdait villages of Meghalaya.

Storm relief centers will be set up at Mawsiangbah and Nongkhniang villages and disaster relief programs will be announced.

Meghalaya cyclonic storm in April 2013 claimed three lives.
