Snowstorm in Babusar area of Pakistan has claimed life of a person. At least 70 tourists have been evacuated from Naran valley. According to Dunya News , the earliest snowfall in 40 years have dumped three feet of snow on one town in less than 24 hours.

A severe weather system in Gilgit Baltistan and Chitral could lead to Glacial Lake Outbrust Flood (GLOF) in Pakistan, Government said. Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued an advisory on 24 July 2015 predicting Glacial Lake Outbrust Flood (GLOF), particularly in PMD's pilot GLOF sites Bagrot, Bindogol and Golain valleys. PMD has predicted the severe weather system likely to persist during next 4-5 days in Gilgit Baltistan and Chitral.

A magnitude 5.5 earthquake has struck very close to Pakistan's capital of Islamabad early on Saturday morning, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) says. The tremor struck at a shallow depth of 10 kilometres, according to PMD, with the epicentre located 23 kilometres to the northeast of Islamabad. It was followed by two weak tremors at 02:30 am local time of magnitude 2.5 and 2.9 at 03:01 am.

Volunteers evacuate marooned people after heavy rains in a suburb of Peshawar (AP/Dawn) Torrential rain and landslides in Azad Kashmir have killed atleast nine people, emergency officials said on Thursday. "Atleast nine people have been killed and seven others have been injured,” Dawn has written quoting Zaheer Qureshi, director general of the disaster management authority.

At least three people have died in flash flood in Chitral, Pakistan prompting the authority to declare flood emergency in the area. Around 2, 85,000 people have been displaced due to storms and flooding, Geo TV reported. Deputy Commissioner Aminul Haq has declared a flood emergency and has appealed to the federal and provincial government as well as NGO’s seeking their cooperation.

Flash floods in a mountainous district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province in northwest Pakistan have claimed lives of at least 10 people. Flash floods have destroyed a madrassa, eleven shops and eight houses in the area. Several students of the madrassa and some residents of the area have been missing after the flood.

Heat wave in Karachi and other parts of Sindh claimed lives of at least 237 people in just two days with temperatures as high as 45degrees Celsius on Saturday. Dozens of people have been hospitalised for heat exhaustion and heatstroke prompting all hospitals to declare a state of emergency across all wards, The Express Tribune reported.

Drought in Pakistan has claimed lives of at least 40 people in last 28 days. Recently six children died in Mithi, Chhachhro, Nagarparkar, Islamkot and other areas of the Tharparkar district in Sindh province, Pakistan Today reported.. Farmers are facing poor rainfall for almost five successive years in Tharparkar district of Pakistan. The ongoing drought has claimed more than 500 lives in three years. The provincial government had also appealed to foreign donors to help mitigate the drought situation last year.

Heavy rains and hailstorms have claimed lives of at least six people in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and the adjoining Federally Administered Tribal Areas on Wednesday. Fatalities include three women who died when the roof of a house collapsed due to the heavy rains in Zangali area. Avalanches and flash floods in Jammu and Kashmir in last three days have claimed lives of at least 16 people and injured 30 others. Heavy snowfall claimed lives of three Nepalese workers when their stone quarrying site caved in near Kargil, The Hindu reported. Fatalities have been reported on both sides of the de-facto border between India and Pakistan. Complete power breakdown has been reported in Srinagar and entire Kashmir valley as heavy snowfall damaged Jammu-Srinagar 220 kv and 440 kv transmission lines. A landslide in Bolivia triggered by torrential rain has claimed lives of at least 16 people and injured 18 others. Landslide swept away a bus, a minibus and a cart in Caranavi area, about 180 kilometers from La Paz. Others 10 people have been rescued. An unknown number of people are still reported to be missing.
