Flooding in Cabo Delgado Province of Mozambique kills six

January 16, 2020: Recent floodings in Cabo Delgado Province of Mozambique have claimed lives of at least six people and left three others missing.

Floodwater has affected Muidumbe, Nangade, Mueda and Palma e Mocímboa da Praia districts of northern Mozambique.

In December 2019, heavy downpour washed away a bridge on Montepuez river (Cabo Delgato). Also in 2019, tropical cyclones Idai and Kenneth caused damage in Mozambique.
