NEPAL: Flood in Banepa kills 2, leaves 1 missing

A flood triggered by heavy downpour at Banepa in Kavre district of Nepal has claimed lives of two people and left one other missing.

According to Nepal Police, Mohan Bahadur Thapa, aged 58, of Nayabasti, Banepa-4 was washed away by flood water. He was washed away after entering the Punyabhumi river in UgraChandi -6 in search cooking gas cylinders.

The flood also swept away cooking gas cylinders from Sagarmatha Gas Udhyog, Surya Gas Udhyog and Chandeshwori Gas Udhyog.

Ashish Kafle, 9, of Paanchkhaal-9 also died in the flooding disaster in Banepa district.

One person, Jit Bahadur Sarki, 58, of Tukucha-8 is still reported to be missing.
