The Virginia Department of Emergency Management and the National Weather Service (NWS) are holding a statewide tornado drill today March 22, 2016.
The Virginia statewide tornado drill will begin at 9:45 a.m. with a test tornado warning sent by the NWS to National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Weather Radios.
Local radio stations, TV stations and cable outlets will broadcast the test message via the Emergency Alert System, Virginia Department of Emergency Management mentioned in a press release issued on March 9, 2016.
Indiana statewide tornado drill 2016
A statewide tornado drill is also scheduled today in Indiana. The Indiana Department of Homeland Security has asked Hoosiers to plan ahead for tornado season and participate in the Statewide Tornado Drill on Tuesday, March 22, 2016.
The tornado drills will be observed both in the morning and evening. The drills will be at 10:15 a.m. and 7:35 p.m. Tuesday.
