Iowa statewide tornado drill 2016 to held tomorrow: March 24, 2016

The Iowa annual tornado drill will take place on Thursday, March 24, 2016 this year.

The Iowa Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (HSEMD), the National Weather Service (NWS) and local emergency managers have again joined together to promote severe weather awareness and family preparedness.

Governor Terry E. Branstad proclaimed March 21-25, 2016, as Severe Weather Awareness Week in Iowa. Schools, businesses, state and local governments, and individuals are strongly encouraged to participate in the Iowa statewide tornado drill 2016 on Thursday, March 24, at approximately 10 a.m.

A statewide tornado drill is scheduled today in Indiana and Virginia.
