  • M 3.7 light earthquake in Oklahoma (@ 8 km depth) with epicenter located 27 km NW of Fairview. It will have been well felt by the people of Chester, Woodward and Enid.

    -Natural Resources Wales has issued a warning for coastal areas, with Denbighshire, Conwy and the north and east of Anglesey.

    -Eruptive activity continues at Kīlauea Volcano's summit and East Rift Zone.
    -These flows currently pose no threat to nearby communities.

  • Disaster authorities in Fiji are shipping more than US$92,000 worth of food to the communites affected by Cyclone Ula in the southern Lau group.

Natural Disaster News
  • Vermont emergency management officials have forecast high winds for Sunday which could cause power outages in some areas. The National Weather Service is forecasting wind gusts of between 24 and 40 mph and up to 65 mph on the western slopes of the Green Mountains.

October 1, 2020: More than 240 earthquakes have been recorded near Westmorland, California.A 4.9 magnitude earthquake is the latest and strongest earthquake to strike near Westmorland. According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the epicenter of the magnitude 4.9 earthquake was located 4 km NE of Westmorland, California.The earthquake swarm began around 4 p.m., when a 3.0 magnitude temblor struck. At least 240 earthquakes were recorded by 8 p.m.USGS confirmed that the earthquake and the associated swarms are located in an area of diffuse seismic activity between the San Andreas fault in the north and the Imperial fault to the south. It’s less likely, but possible, that a larger quake with a magnitude up to 6.9 will strike, according to the earthquake forecast by the USGS.According to the USGS, the latest swarm is “rapidly evolving,” and seismologists will update their quake forecast as more data is collected.Tremors were felt by the people of San Diego County and Tijuana.

Tibet/Nepal earthquake 2013 injures people

Update 09:18 A.M.
At least one people died and three others injured in China, the official Xinhua News Agency said.

Further 17 others from three tourist buses were trapped by quake-triggered landslides in Yunnan Province of China.

Update 07:25 A.M.

According to the China Earthquake Networks Center, another earthquake in the morning (not to be confused with midnight Tibet/Nepal earthquake) had magnitude of 5.9 in the border of southwest China's Yunnan and Sichuan provinces.
The quake was felt strongly in the county seat of Deqen, Xinhua reported.
Earthquake also triggered landslides, which blocked the traffic from Deqen to Benzilan in China.

Magnitude 6.0 earthquake rattles Nepal — Epicenter near Ramche, Sindhupalchowk

Update 5:50 amAccording to the Nepal Seismological Center, the earthquake of magnitude 6.0 occurred today at 05:19 am with epicenter in Ramche, Sindhupalchowk.This is an aftershock of 2015 Gorkha earthquake. No preliminary damage or injures have been reported.Update 5:45 amAccording to the United States Geological Survey, the earthquake of magnitude 5.3 occurred 11 km SW of Kodari.Update 5:40 amEMSC has upgraded the magnitude to 5.5. The earthquake occurred at  depth of 10 km.Update 5:30 amThe preliminary data shows epicenter to be around magnitude 4.8 with epicenter near Kodari in Nepal-China border.
