Magnitude 4.0 light earthquake hit United Kingdom today at 02:52 am local time, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
According
to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake's epicenter was located just 2 km (1mi) W of Ramsgate. It was 3.1 miles
deep.
Tremor was well felt in Minster, Ash, Wingham, Birchington-on-Sea, Ramsgate, Margate, Broadstairs, Canterbury and London.

The UK is not generally associated with earthquakes, however, between 20 to 30 earthquakes are felt by people each year, British Geological Survey mentions in its website. A magnitude 4 earthquake happens in Britain roughly every two years.
