Recent volcanic activity in Yellowstone National Park: USGS latest report shows 75 earthquakes

The latest update of the Yellowstone volcano by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) has shown total 75 registered earthquakes in the Yellowstone National Park region in December 2014.

The largest event in Yellowstone National Park was a small earthquake of magnitude 2.4 on December 15. There were no earthquake swarm sequences during the month of December.

"Yellowstone earthquake activity in December was at relatively low background levels", USGS has mentioned.

The alert level of recent volcanic activity in Yellowstone National Park is “normal” and current aviation color code is “green.”

Yellowstone National Park is the world's first national park located in the United States.
