Flooding in Sao Paolo, Brazil claims 10 lives, state of calamity declared

A state of calamity has been declared after floods and mudslides claimed lives of at least ten people and left 10 others missing in southeast Brazil.

According to the Brazil’s Civil Defence Department, five hours of heavy rainfall through the night, Sunday to Monday in Itaoca, Sao Paolo displaced more than 300 people.

Heavy rainfall caused flooding when the Palmital River overflowed its bank in Sao Paolo, Brazil.
