Landslide in Nainital, India kills 6

Landslide in Nainital district of Uttarakhand, India has claimed lives of six people, local medias reported.

Landslide triggered by heavy rainfall caused landslide in Bheemal area of Nainital and claimed lives of five people of a family and one other person.

Indian Meteorological department has predicted more rainfall in Nainital.

Similarly heavy downpour has disrupted rescue and rehabilitation work in Uttarakhand mainly in Kedarnath and Badrinath area. Landslides and flooding in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh have claimed 5,500 lives till now.

At least 151 people had died in 1880 Nainital landslide. Nainital is a popular hill station in the Indian state of Uttarakhand.
