M 4.4 moderate earthquake hits Athens, Greece today, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre reported.
According to the EMSC, the quake's epicenter was located 4 km SE of Pikérmi and 24 km E of Athens. It was 10 km deep.
The 1999 Athens earthquake of magnitude 6.0 claimed lives of at least 143 people.
