Mild thunderstorm accompanied by hailstorm in Sheikhpura district of India have claimed lives of at least three people and injured 100 others, Times Of India reports.
Hailstorm hit a religious function at village Pinjuri under Sheikhpura Town. Over 1000 people had gathered to celebrate the festival.
Heavy thunderstorms have also been reported in Purnia and Kishanganj districts of Muzaffarpur.
About 6.6mm rainfall has been recorded on Sunday in Patna, Met Office says.
Severe weather is also expected in Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and West Bengal. Low pressure area over southeast Bay of Bengal has developed into a cyclone Mahasen.
