Earthquake hits Scotland Highlands, largest in 35 years!

Largest earthquake in 35 years hit Scotland Highlands on 15th May 2013, Scottish TV reports.

Magnitude 2.8 magnitude earthquake hit Wester Ross centered on Gairloch at 18:43 Wednesday morning, the British Geological Survey (BGS) says.

People rushed out to roads in Poolewe. However no injuries were reported.

Last large earthquake in Scotland was 3.4 on the Richter Scale in June 11, 1978.

Strong earthquake in Scotland are rare. 1880 Scotland earthquake of magnitude 5.2 is the largest recorded earthquake in Scotland.
