Langtang_village_Nepal_Volcano_eruption
  • Volcanic eruption at Mount Langtang, Nepal!
    -There is news of volcanic eruption in Langtang area in Rasuwa district of Nepal.
    -The location of the site is four kilometers northeast from the Mt Langtang.
    -Nearest residential area is Linling Sherpa Gaun (village) and Briding which lies at a distance of a day´s walk from the area.
    -Following local people, a sudden explosion with smoke and flames were seen at the area at around 10 am.
    -Nepal Army soldiers were sent to Langtang area on a helicopter.
    -Langtang is a region in Nepal to the north of Kathmandu and bordering Tibet which is protected as Langtang National Park and has a number of high peaks including Langtang Lirung (7246m).

    -After visiting the Langtang area, NA soldiers confirms that there is no volcano eruption at Mount Langtang. Smoke is from a wildfire burning in the area.
    -"Volcano eruption in Nepal" news spread quickly as a sign of End of the world hoax.

  • M 4.7 moderate shallow earthquake in Hokkaido, Japan (@ 10 km depth) with epicenter located 26 km SE of Shizunai. Weak shaking will have even felt by the people of Obihiro, Tomakomai and Otofuke.

Erupting Volcanoes: Fuego, Santiago, Poas, Reventador, Nyiragongo, Ol Doniyo Lengai, Raung, Erta Ale, Paluweh, Gamalama, Batu Tara, Sakurajima, Manam, Ulawun, Tolbachik and Kilauea volcano.
  • Following the scientists of Maltepe University, there is a risk of an underwater volcano eruption as a result of numerous earthquakes in Turkey. A crater was also found at a depth of 25 metres under water in Turkish province of Mugla close to ​​Marmaris.

  • Tropical Cyclone Evan
    -As of 12:00 UTC, TC Evan was located 400 nm south of Nadi, Fiji.
    -Cyclone Evan killed four people in Samao. Damage to the main island of Upolu appears to be worse than from the 2009 earthquake and tsunami that killed 135 people.

  • Major blizzards in United States
    -Heavy winter snowstorm has blanketed the US Midwest today. The region's first big storm of the season dumped more than 30 centimetres of snow in parts of Wisconsin, Iowa and Minnesota.
    -Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker has issued a state of emergency.
    -Storm has cut power to more than 40,000 households and businesses in Iowa.
    -Blizzard warnings were also issued in Nebraska, Missouri and Illinois.
    -Airlines cancelled more than 150 flights at Chicago's bustling O'Hare airport. Flights through smaller airports in Iowa, Missouri, South Dakota, Wisconsin and Minnesota were also cancelled Thursday morning.
  • The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for parts of southeast Louisiana and southern Mississippi.
