Recent Natural Disasters
  • Flooding in Japan

    -Death toll from the Japan floods has risen to 22.
    -Floods destroyed 820 houses and collapsed two bridges. Nearly 181 landslides occurred in Fukuoka.
    -Evacuation orders issued for over 250,000 people in the northern parts of Kyushu. Evacuation orders were effective for Fukuoka, Saga, Kumamoto and Oita prefectures.
    -Heavy rain (Ground-loosening) along with Severe (Red) flood and thunderstorm warning issued for Yamagata-shi (Gifu-Seino), Seki-shi (Chuno) and Gero-shi (Hida Nambu) region today too.

  • Flooding in New Zealand
    -At least five houses in Murchison reported to be destroyed by recent floods.
    -Some house owners evacuated from Carters Beach west of Westport.
    -Storms caused minor flooding in Murchison, Nelson and Golden Bay.

  • M 5.0 moderate earthquake in Central Peru (@ 70 km depth) with epicenter located 44 km W of Talavera. Just a weak shaking of MMI II-III will have felt by the people of Andahuaylas, Ayacucho and Huanta.

  • M 4.8 moderate earthquake in Honshu, Japan (@ 62 km depth) with epicenter located just 2 km NE of Kuki. Moderate shaking of MMI V will have felt by the people of Satte, Kurihashi, Sugito, Tochigi, and KazoKasukabe. Light to weak shaking will have felt by the people of Asahi, Chiba, Funabashi, Hitachi, Kasukabe, Kawaguchi, Mito, Saitama, Tokyo, Yokohama, Yokosuka and Zushi.

  • M 4.6 moderate deep earthquake in Mendoza, Argentina (@ 190 km depth) with epicenter located 99 km ESE of San Martin. Just a weak shaking of MMI II-III will have felt by the people of San Luis, La Punta and Mendoza.

  • M 4.5 moderate deep earthquake in Ecuador (@ 185 km depth) with epicenter located  just 38 km E of Puyo. It willl have well felt by the people of Tena, Boca Suno and Pelileo.

    -Heavy rainfall caused flooding in barangays Mabolo and Labangon region of Philippines.
  • Flooding in Bhutan
    -Kurishu river is flowing above the danger level at Narayanguri dam (Bhutan sluice gate), on the Indo-Bhutan border in Baksa district.

Tropical Cyclone List
  • Hurricane Fabio
    -As of 01:00 UTC, Hurricane Fabio was located 925 km SW of the southern tip of Baja California.
    -Fabio is a category two hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson scale.
    -Fabio is approaching colder water and gradual weakening is expected to begin today (Sunday).
  • Tropical Storm Emilia
    -As of 01:00 UTC , TS Emilia was located 2550 km WSW of the southern tip of Baja California.
    -Emilia is forecast to become a Post-tropical remnant low by late today or tomorrow.

Natural Disaster News
  • Tornado in Locustville, Virginia
    -A tornado reported in Accomack County of Virginia.
    -Minor damage to the buildings.
  • Wildfire in Gardnerville. Nevada
    -Wildfire reported near Stockyard Road north of Gardnerville.
    -The fire burned about 20 acres so far.
