December 15, 2019: At least six people have been killed after a tropical storm named Pawan made landfall in northern Somalia . According to the UN humanitarian agency, tropical storm Pawan made landfall on December 6, bringing heavy rainfall, strong winds and flash floods in parts of Bari and Nugaal regions of Puntland. Eyl, Bandarbayla, Caluula and Laasqoray districts are severely affected by the tropical storm Pawan.

November 6, 2019: The death toll from recent flooding in Somalia has risen to 17 people with more than 370,000 people being displaced. According to the United Nations Children Agency, at least 200,000 children are among the people affected by flooding in Somalia.

November 1, 2019:  Recent flooding in Somalia has claimed lives of 10 people and displaced more than 270,000, the United Nations said. A boat capsized and claimed lives of 10 people when a river overflowed in Beledweyne town of central Somalia. Rain and floods are forecast to continue for November.
