Typhoon Noul (local name: Dodong) has claimed lives of at least two people in Philippines and forced evacuations of thousands others. Typhoon Noul entered the Philippine area of Responsibility on May 7 forcing the evacuation of around 2,500 people in Northern Luzon.

Typhoon Maysak (Chedeng) kills 12 in Philippines and FSM

Super Typhoon Maysak (Chedeng) has claimed lives of 12 people affecting Yap and Chuuk State in the Federated States of Micronesia, as well as the Philippines. Maysak is responsible for widespread destruction and five deaths in the Federated States of Micronesia . Seven people died and 26 injured during the celebration of Easter Week in Philippines, ABC News reported. However, officials have not decided whether the deaths were related to the approaching storm.

Landslide in Zambo Norte, Philippines buries 2

Landslide in Zambo Norte, Philippines has claimed lives of two persons, including a nine years old child. The landslide occurred in Roxas town in Zamboanga del Norte Monday morning. The victims were killed after they were “covered with soil and buried” when a landslide occurred in their community, Manila Bulletin has written quoting Police Regional Office Spokesman Dahlan Samuddin.

10 killed in Albay, Philippines landslide; 200 rescued

The landslide triggered by heavy rains brought on by Tropical Storm "Amang" has claimed lives of at least 10 people. However, rescue teams have  saved at least 200 residents trapped by a landslide in Sitio Inang Maharang in Barangay Nagotgot, Manito, Albay.  Two military helicopters from the Philippine Air Force Tactical Operations Group 5 based in Legazpi City were deployed to the area to assist in the search operation, Inquirer has written quoting the Albay Public Safety and Emergency Management Office (Apsemo).

Typhoon Ruby in Mindoro, Philippines

Update 08:15 UTC According to the Philippine National Red Cross, at least 21 people have been dead, many of them drowned as flood waters rose in Borongan, the main town in Eastern Samar. Typhoon Ruby is predicted to make its third landfall over Northern Mindoro between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Monday. The government is bracing for Ruby in Metro Manila as well as in Mindoro and Calabarzon as the center of Typhoon Ruby was located 20 km East of Torrijos, Marinduque at 10 a.m. (local time).

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has intensified its disaster response preparations for Typhoon Hagupit (Local name "Typhoon Ruby").

Super Typhoon Hagupit (Ruby) threatens Philippines

Super Typhoon Hagupit (Local name "Typhoon Ruby" is currently the second most intense tropical cyclone in 2014 which is heading towards Philippines. According to the US Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC), Tropical storm Hagupit has now developed into a typhoon with sustained winds of 130 km/h. The US Joint Typhoon Warning Center has captured the typhhon Hagupit in open ocean east of Palau.

Moro Gulf Earthquake shakes Cotabato, Koronadal

M 6.3 strong deep earthquake in Moro Gulf region shook the Cotabato and Koronadal area of Philippines, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
