Flash floods in Abuja, Nigeria kill four

September 14, 2021: Recent flash floods in the Nigerian capital Abuja and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have claimed lives of four people. According to the FCT Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the illegal building construction and blocked drainage channels have worsen the flood situation in the city.

3 dead or missing in flash flood in Kwara, Nigeria

June 16, 2020: At least three people have been killed or missing due to flash floods in Kwara, Nigeria and destroyed 100 houses in Akwa Ibom. A bridge embankment collapsed in Oko-Erin leaving one person dead and two others missing. Heavy downpour destroyed 100 houses and displaced 300 people in Eket Local Government Area.

No earthquake in Nigeria — It's an explosion in Akure

March 28, 2020: People claimed of an earthquake in Akure, Nigeria today! The news went viral on social medias claiming tremor and sound heard in Akure. But the tremor was from an explosion in Akure around 12:30 am on Saturday morning. The explosion was heard in Akure, Owo, Ondo and neighboring areas. The explosion was strong enough to destroy a church and a school in the area. Nigeria is not located within the major seismic zones of the world People also shared an Asteroid hitting the Akure. It was linked with the April 29, 2020. Flooding in central Nigeria kills 10

October 17, 2019: At least 10 people have been died due to recent flooding in Nigeria caused by the persistent rainfall. According to the Niger State Emergency Management Agency in Nigeria's central region, the deaths have been recorded over the past two months in Nigeria. Three days ago, an 11 years old boy died after being swept away in the flood water in the Alimosho area of Lagos .  The recent disaster has destroyed around 2700 houses and affected a total of 21.223 people in 20 local government areas, Xinhua reported. Lagos, Nigeria: Flood in Lekki today kills 1

October 13, 2019: An 11 years old boy died after being swept away in the flood water in the Alimosho area of Lagos.  The heavy downpour has left many homes flooded and blocked the drainage in Lekki city in Lagos state of Nigeria today. Recent flooding has also affected the Victoria Island, Ajah, and all the way to Ibeju-Lekki.

Landslide in Jigawa, Nigeria kills 2 brothers

Landslide in Jigawa state of Malaysia has claimed lives of two brothers. Fatalities include a 17-year-old boy and his 15-year-old brother. Landslide hit Zaidawa Village in Garki Local Government Area, Jigawa State while those boys were digging sand in the area, Sun News Online reported.

Mudslide traps 20 in Cross Rivers, Nigeria

A mudslide at Obudu Mountain Resort in Obanliku Local Government Area of Cross River State has trapped at least 20 people, local medias reported. Team of NEMA, SEMA and the Nigerian Air Force have been involved in rescue opertations. The Nigerian Air Force Augusta 109 from 305 Flying Training School Enugu, Super Puma, and MI 24 helicopters have also joined the rescue operations, Channel TV reported. Floods in Yobe state of Nigeria destroy 300 houses

Recent floods in Yobe state of Nigeria have destroyed more than 300 houses, local medias reported. Floods in Yobe state which lasted for four hours have killed several animals too. Potiskum, Gashu’a, Nguru, Fika, Gaidam, Damagum and Damaturu are severely affected due to floods, Leadership reported. Flooding in Kano, Nigeria had destroyed about 408 homes a week before. Flooding in Kano, Nigeria have destroyed about 408 homes, State Emergency Relief and Rehabilitation Agency said today. Seven members of a single family were rescued Sunday.
