May 18, 2018: An explosive eruption has occurred at Hawaii’s Kilauea volcano sending ash about 30,000ft (9,100m) high into the sky. According to the report issued by the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory issued at 02:54 UTC, after the explosive eruption early this morning seismic levels have been gradually increasing, but as of this report no additional explosions have occurred. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) has issued a red aler t, which means major volcanic eruption is imminent, underway, or suspected with hazardous activity both on the ground and in the air. According to Talmadge Magno, civil defense administrator for Hawaii County, around 18,000 masks that protect from particulates like ash were given out Thursday. Officials still warned people in the area on Hawaii's Big Island to stay indoors and to use the masks. A tropical depression in the East Pacific has strengthened into Tropical Storm Ignacio, which is forecast to strengthen into a hurricane later this week as it moves in a west to eventually west-northwest direction. According to the National Hurricane Center, Tropical Storm Ignacio was located 2,460km ESE of Hilo, Hawaii at 2:00 pm PDT (21:00 UTC).

Five day track for Kilo (Central Pacific Hurricane Center) Hawaii Governor has issued an emergency proclamation for Kilo following the gradual strengthening of the storm over next couple of days. Hawaiian Authorities on Saturday have told the people to prepare for a possible evacuation in the next three to five days due to Kilauea volcano eruption, The Associate Press reported. Tropical Storm Flossie is expected to cause flooding and waves up to 18 feet high even mudslides, tornadoes and waterspouts in some areas. According to the Central Pacific Hurricane Center, Tropical Storm Flossie 2013 is forecast to make landfall on the northern tip of the Big Island Monday morning. Flood alerts have been issued by Hawaii State Civil Defense following a tropical storm Flossie. As of 03:00 UTC Saturday, tropical storm Flossie was located 2070 km E of Hilo Hawaii. Hawaii authorities has issued an alert for "torrential" rains and dangerous flash floods early next week. Tropical storm Flossie has a 5 percent chance to grow into a hurricane. A National Weather Service projection has forecasts tropical storm Flossie passing directly over Hawaii early Tuesday. M 5.3 moderate earthquake hits Hawaii today, the U.S. Geological Survey reported. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake's epicenter was located 54 km SE of Pahala on the Big Island. It was 25.0 miles deep. The Oahu Department of Emergency Management expects strong shaking in some areas. The USGS reported earlier that the quake's magnitude was 5.6.
