Meta hosts disaster preparedness summit in San Diego

July 28, 2022: Meta (formerly Facebook) hosted a disaster preparedness summit in Escondido in partnership with Ready San Diego, the City of Escondido, Red Cross of San Diego and Imperial Counties, and the California Office of Emergency Services.

Participants were shared with the best practices for digital communication before, during, and after a disaster or crisis. 

The disaster preparedness summit  was attended by representatives from 18 cities and tribes and learned  how Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp are working to be a streamlined form of communication between first responders, local government and businesses, CBS8 reported.
