Tezpur earthquake today measures 4.7 in magnitude

April 5, 2020: A moderate earthquake of magnitude 4.7 has been felt in Tezpur, India today at 23:20 pm local time.

According to the United States Geological Survey, the epicenter was located 17 km S of Tezpur. The earthquake occurred at 49 km depth.

The earthquake was felt by the people of Tezpur, Nagaon, Rangapara,Itanagar, Gauhati and as far as Shillong, Meghalaya.

No preliminary damage or injuries have been reported from the earthquake in Tezpur today.
