Low pressure triggers flooding in Castellon de la Plana, Spain

April 2, 2020: An area of low pressure has triggered torrential rainfall leading to floods in parts of eastern Spain.

Floodwaters have affected Castellon de la Plana, the capital of Castellon province.

According to media reports, at least 91 people have been rescued in Almassora, Borriana and Oropesa. 

Further, severe thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds have been predicted for the Balearic Islands.
