Severe weather in Pakistan kills 27, injures 5 others

March 9, 2020: Heavy rainfall, strong winds and thunderstorm have claimed lives of at least 27 people and injured 56 others across across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.

The government has declared a week-long Extreme Weather Emergency.

Mardan district is worst affected by the recent weather disaster claiming lives of six people including four children. Other fatalities are from Swat district,Peshawar, Nowshera and Charsadda.

On other hand, Shangla district received heavy snowfall, causing road closures for the first time in the month of March.
