RUMOR spreads about 4.1 magnitude earthquake in Dover, Delaware today

January 13, 2020: A news became viral about 4.1 magnitude earthquake near Dover, Delaware at about 4:47pm today.

People were surprised to read the news as they didn't feel any tremor in Delaware today. The earthquake news is just a rumor and viral hoax.

The news claimed that the earthquake was felt along the U.S. East Coast from Massachusetts to central Virginia, including New York City, Philadelphia, and Washington D.C.

We found that the earthquake news that went viral today was pulled from a post back in November 2017.

This was actually an old post of the earthquake being shared online that rattled Delaware in November 2017. But people started sharing the earthquake news without looking the mentioned date.

We even confirmed with the United States Geological Survey (USGS) that there was no earthquake recorded in Dover, Delaware today.
