Pittsburg County declares emergency due to widespread flooding

The Pittsburg County emergency management office has made an disaster proclamation Monday.

High flood waters have shut down nearly two dozen roads and forced the cancellation of at least one school district over the weekend.

According to McAlester/Pittsburg County Office of Emergency Management Director Kevin Enloe, roads that remained closed as of early Monday included State Highway 31 west of McAlester, State Highway 63 from Bache Road to Haileyville, and Shuman Road west of McAlester, The McAlester News-Capital has written.
